About Mrs. Callif

I am the oldest of four children (two are step), so I never got away with much! I grew up and went to school in Dublin, Ohio.  I played soccer when I was younger, and lacrosse in high school for three years.  I went to Ohio Dominican University and received my bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education (4-9) in Science and Language Arts.  I have a Reading Endorsement (k-12) and the Generalist Endorsement (4-6).  I received my Master's degree from Marygrove College in 2007.

I have been teaching at Olentangy Shanahan Middle School for six years.  I have taught everything from Social Studies, to Language Arts, to Science.  Science is my favorite subject to teach because I enjoy hands-on labs and activities. I love teaching middle school because no day is ever the same. I love the age of my students because they and old enough to start to get my "silly" (sometimes not so funny) jokes.

I got married on a cruise ship in 2009 and went to Hawaii for 10 days.  We spent five days in Kauai and five days in Maui.  In Kauai, we took a hilocopter ride to see the Napali Coast.  It was absolutely gorgeous.  In Maui, we woke up at 2:00 am and traveled up a volcano to watch the sun rise.  Then, we rode bikes all the way down the volcano to this cute town of Paia.

I now have a daughter named Quinn.  She was born in April 2010.  She has such a cute personality.  She never cries unless she is hungry or tired. She loves her baths and to swim in the pool.  Our dog, Smokey, has grown to like her a little more than at first.  He now lays next to her when she is having her tummy time.
